Planning Permission Granted for Equestrian Facility near Newark

Equestrian Staythorpe, Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG23

GraceMachin have achieved planning permission for the retention of an equestrian ménage and horse-walker and retrospective change of use of buildings from agricultural storage to equestrian use at an existing farm on the outskirts of Staythorpe, near Newark. Our Client’s land holding comprises land and buildings wholly within open countryside and includes Staythorpe House Farm identified as a local interest building and non-designated heritage asset.

From our initial visit to the Site, we considered that the current use of the pre-existing farmyard building, now as an equestrian stable block, has little or no impact upon the local character of the area. The new use has required no external alterations to the building and an equestrian use is clearly both appropriate and complimentary to this rural countryside location

The proposals will assist in allowing the development and growth of our Client’s existing rural enterprise, through the provision of new equestrian facilities suitable to offer training to local horse owners. We hope to continue working with our Client and Newark and Sherwood District Council to organically grow this equestrian business.

GraceMachin Planning & Property specialise in obtaining planning permission for equestrian and agricultural related proposals across the East Midlands and recommend tailored planning strategies and designs to individual sites.
