GraceMachin has been able to work proactively with Newark and Sherwood District Council and its Officers to achieve full planning permission for a new detached family home in Eakring Conservation Area.
"In early February I attended a successful Planning Committee meeting where Committee Members voted unanimously in favour of planning permission being granted. I was particularly encouraged by the positive comments from Local Councillors regarding our proposed design and general approach taken to the Site. Notwithstanding a formal objection from the Council’s Conservation Officer, we have been able to secure full planning permission for a detached family home and our Clients are delighted."
Our Application sought to highlight the benefits of new housing delivery in this location, contributing to both the vitality and viability of Eakring village itself and neighbouring Bilsthorpe. We set out that there would be economic uplift during construction through short term employment and the purchase of locally sourced building materials. Future occupiers would also contribute to the local economy through increased expenditure at local facilities and amenities. GraceMachin went on to successfully highlight the importance of new family housing in the rural area.
The Council’s Conservation Team were of the view that the proposed scheme would ‘harm’ the character of the village but Planning Officers and crucially Members of the Planning Committee concluded that the development would have a positive impact on the street scene and granted full planning permission.
