Permission Granted - Residential detached annexe in Nottinghamshire
Gamston, Nottinghamshire, NG2 6PQ
GraceMachin have recently obtained planning permission for five affordable homes on the rural edge of Barnstone and have been heavily involved with the sale of the land to Waterloo Housing Group that has now been successfully completed.
Lying on the outskirts of the village, residential development of this site would not normally be considered acceptable in planning policy terms. However, GraceMachin believed that there was a lack of affordable homes available in the village and that an “edge of settlement” site should be considered to meet this shortfall. We therefore commissioned an independent Housing Needs Survey, to identify if there was a lack of affordable housing and, if so, the number of affordable homes that were needed.
The development proposed by GraceMachin will deliver five two-bedroom properties and directly responds to the findings of the Local Housing Needs Survey.
Following a presentation by the Partners of GraceMachin at Planning Committee, Rushcliffe Borough Council Members voted in favour of the application and were unanimous in their support of the scheme.
Waterloo also supported the planning application process and are now looking to deliver the completed units on site in late 2019.
Established in June 2012 by Chartered Town Planners Nick Grace and George Machin, our portfolio of work covers a wide breadth and scale of development; from single houses or replacement dwellings to large scale, mixed use, residential and commercial sites.
