Farmhouse style new dwelling granted in the open-countryside of north Nottinghamshire

Residential Teversal, Nottinghamshire, NG17

Full planning permission has been successfully obtained for a self-build project, which will start later this year.

The approved design is a two storey detached dwelling incorporating traditional design features such as cills and headers and casement style windows. The dwelling is to be constructed from a red brick blend with a concrete tile roof, to match the surrounding properties.

George Machin, Partner commented:

"The result is especially pleasing because the outline planning consent we achieved at the end of last year restricted the type of new dwelling to a single storey dwelling with rooms in the roof space only.  The full planning permission we have actually now achieved for our client is a traditional two storey farmhouse-style dwelling on a larger footprint and floorspace than previously envisaged for the site.  The new consented property is a large detached property which has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, ample living accommodation downstairs and an attached car port.

"Planning permission was also achieved quicker than expected – the application was formally submitted to the Council on the 13th February and full planning consent was granted on the 19th March, that’s only 5 weeks.

"I was pleased to again work well with planning officer’s at Ashfield District Council to achieve exactly what our client wanted.  Work on-site is expected to start later this year."
