Planning granted for three new holiday lets in a Greenbelt location - Fairview Equestrian, Ravenshead

Equestrian Fairview Equestrian, Ravenshead, NG15 9GS

GraceMachin has successfully secured planning permission for three new holiday lets in the Green Belt.

Fairview is a thriving riding stables and stud farm used by many local people and groups including wheelchair dependant and disabled children.

Despite its location within the Nottinghamshire Green Belt, GraceMachin has long-established the principle of holiday accommodation at Fairview.

The approved scheme will create 3 no. new holiday lets, 1 no. of which a dedicated wheelchair accessible holiday let.

By providing 1 of the 3 proposed holiday lets as a dedicated wheelchair accessible holiday let, the Riding School will able to offer disabled children and their parents/carers an additional place to stay overnight to avoid long car journeys and to maximise the time the children and young people can spend with the horses and ponies.

Fairview is also ideally located close Newstead Abbey Park, Papplewick Pumping Station, Sherwood Forest and Clumber Park. It provides an idyllic location for anyone visiting the Gedling area and needing overnight accommodation.

After securing planning permission, George Machin, Partner said:

‘We believed that the proposed scheme would actually improve the openness of the Green Belt and through the proposed ‘high quality’ design would significantly enhance the appearance of the site.

Paragraph 83 of the revised National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and the general ‘thrust’ of the adopted Development Plan is specifically intended to support a prosperous rural economy and this application proposal was submitted in this context.

I am delighted that I was able to work positively with Gedling Borough Officer’s and that the Council continue to support our client, Debbie Cox, with her ambitions at Fairview.’
