Planning Permission Granted at Grade II* Allington Manor, Near Grantham
Allington, Lincolnshire, NG32 2DH
GraceMachin have secured planning and listed building consent for a variety of works to a Listed family home in the rural village of Allington, Lincolnshire.
The approved scheme focuses around a new Georgian-style orangery, extending the rear elevation of the property to create a large open-plan kitchen/living space.
The detailed design includes multi-paned Georgian windows that will be traditionally glazed and made from hardwood timber framing. The roof lantern has Sapele glazing barns and the new glass is to be sealed with power coated aluminium caps/ridges, finished in anthracite colour.
The approved Orangery is to have a Farrow & Ball paint finish in ‘French Gray’ or ‘Lichen’ green.
"All elements of the proposal were developed & considered with careful regard to the preservation of the host dwelling"
The scheme also includes the creation of an enlarged courtyard space, bordered by a new section of low-level reclaimed brick wall with a natural stone coping . This new outdoor entertaining space is in addition to a new porch/‘boot room’, accessed from the main driveway.
On securing planning approval, George Machin said: "All elements of the proposal were developed & considered with careful regard to the preservation of the host dwelling such that no planning harm would result to the Listed Building, its setting or the character and appearance of the Conservation Area.
"The works were discussed with South Kesteven’s Conservation Officer before the application was formally submitted and I am delighted permissions have now been formally granted."
